Carbon Offsetting

Cause Impact

£0.05 ($0.063) offsets 1kg of CO2 to help combat climate change

About the Cause

The impact of CO2 on our climate is well known. While carbon offsetting has grown in popularity in recent years, it is important to know that not all carbon offsetting initiatives are created equally. Our offsetting partners at Ripple Africa work with UN certified carbon removing programs.

Ripple Africa are proud to report that more than 600,000 people have their food cooked every day on one of their fuel-efficient cookstoves, locally known in Malawi as a Changu Changu Moto.

The project was started in Nkhata Bay District with 40,000 cookstoves and have since expanded
the project to Mzimba, Nkhotakota and Salima Districts with a further 85,000 cookstoves built.

On average, two bundles of wood are saved per cookstove every single week.

Fuel-efficient cookstove project is a registered carbon offsetting project. Ripple reinvest the
carbon offsetting income to build more cookstoves, plant trees and conserve existing forests.
