About the Cause
Homelessness is one of the most challenging social problems in UK. More than 200,000 individuals will find themselves homeless this year. The average life expectancy of a homeless person is between 43-45 years. Crisis UK are helping 1000s of people sleeping rough change their story and find support, an income and a home.
What causes homelessness?
People become homeless for so many different reasons. Poverty, unemployment, lack of affordable housing. Often those who left prison, care or the army may have nowhere to go turning to homelessness. Women can become homeless fleeing abusive relationships. Mental health and change of life substances can leave a person sleeping rough. In all cases, homelessness is preventable and reversible. This is where Crisis UK come in.
