Christmas Season

The Christmas season is an excellent time to give back. With temperatures changing there are more in need including children, adults, and animals alike. Thankfully there any many ways to support and donate at Christmas.
Charities and Causes to support over Christmas:
Crisis - help the homeless find a home and an income
The Salvation Army - their primary focus over the Christmas season is to support families battling poverty
RSPCA - rescue, rehabilitate and rehome domestic animals to give them a second chance at life
World Aids Day
December 1, 2024
It is a global event dedicated to raising awareness about HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), showing support for people living with HIV, and commemorating those who have lost their lives to AIDS-related illnesses.
Charities and Causes to support on World Aids Day:
Terrence Higgins Trust - leading HIV and sexual health charity, providing testing, support, and advocacy for those affected by HIV.
National AIDS Trust - dedicated to transforming the UK's response to HIV, advocating for better healthcare, and support, and challenging stigma and discrimination.
Positive East - community-based charity offering support, information, and counselling for people affected by HIV/AIDS in East London.
Human Rights Day
December 10, 2024
Human Rights Day commemorates the day in 1948 when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). This day serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting and promoting human rights for all individuals, regardless of their nationality, race, religion, gender, or any other characteristic.

There are many great human rights charities that you can support today. Here are a few:
Amnesty International - global human rights movement advocating for freedom, equality, and justice through research, campaigns, and public mobilisation.
Liberty - a UK-based organisation protecting civil liberties and human rights, offering legal support, challenging unfair laws, and safeguarding individual freedoms.
Human Rights Watch - an international organisation investigating and reporting on human rights abuses worldwide, including in the UK, and advocating for accountability and policy changes.
